iEar operates in ultra low power transmission band, at one thousandth the power output of your mobile phone for instance.
If you feel you have hearing difficulties, contact your GP at the very first instance or see a hearing care professional.
It is not technically a hearing aid but rather, an assistive listening device that can be used on its own.
However, if you do have a hearing aid and set it to T-mode, the iEar will work with your hearing aid to deliver the iEar's noise free sound of unprecedented clarity to your ears, whilst preserving the personalised settings of your hearing aid.
iEar is compatible with all T-enabled hearing aid. For compatibility with other hearing aids, consult your hearing care professional.
No, you can use iEar as a stand-alone system.
Under normal conditions, the earpieces will pick up sound from the transmitter and has a range of about twenty-five metres.
Any wireless device is susceptible to interference. However, iEar has been designed and developed in such a way to minimise interference with or from other radio devices.
No. It uses more efficient radio communication technology that enables greater range and doesn't rely on line of sight.
The iEar batteries have a nominal lifecycle of 300 complete charge and discharge cycles.
To use the iEar, position the transmitter near the required sound source and turn on the earpieces. You can enjoy your iEar in most listening environments. For more information, consult your instruction leaflet or download it here.
Besides using the iEar to enhance your communication ability, you can also use the iEar to listen to audio from other devices through the direct audio port.
The iEar could also be potentially used as a monitoring device for babies or the elderly
Although the iEar will function adequately on one earpiece, we recommend using both earpieces: research has shown that your understanding of speech and general sound experience will benefit.
Yes, if you know someone who is also a user of the iEar, you can both share the sound picked up by the same transmitter if you are both within 25 metres of it.
We do not recommend you sharing the earpieces for hygienic reasons without changing or cleaning the ear pads first.
The internal batteries give 18 hours of uninterrupted service on a full charge or 210 hours on standby.
We include the ear pads in the package for your maximum comfort and hygiene. The ear pads should be replaced every time they are worn by a different person, or at three month intervals, whichever is the shortest. You can extend the life of the ear pads by washing in warm soapy water.
You can purchase direct from your ear pads from your hearing care professional or alternatively directly from us.
No.
The iEar is a two-part system, with the tiny transmitter doing the sound pick up. The transmitter sends the sound via very low power radio waves to the binaural earpieces. These deliver the sound directly to your ears, or via a hearing aid.
